Glasshouse Speakers, Mighty Mini Monitors

This is a pair of speakers built based on a kit from Hi-Fi Collective, the Speaker Kit No. 1. You are provided with a basic kit including a set of CNC-machined enclosure panels, electronics and drive units. You supply the time, the tools, the finish and the know-how. The result is a pair of mini monitors with a mighty sound. They stand a little over 300 mm high and 200 mm square, and are a sealed design in classic British bookshelf speaker tradition.

I deviated from the basic kit, adding cloth-covered grilles magnetically attached to the front baffle. They are veneered in a lovely American Walnut, oiled with Liberon ‘Superior’ danish oil, and wax polished to a smooth, satin finish. I’m really pleased with how these came out.
