Paduk: Laburnum A 13:3:24

More Padauk Pens

More pens in Padauk wood, mostly using slimline and ‘fancy’ pen kits. I’ve discovered that the quality of the bushings you use to set your diameters when turning these is extremely important. Some of the cheaper bushing sets are cutting it fine, only 2 mm larger than the internal tube. This results in a wood wall thickness of just 1 mm at the very end of each barrel, and they can easily crack in pressing the parts together. Hence, 1 of these is a combination of Padauk and Laburnum, a contrast created using parts of two cracked pens that I didn’t want to go to waste.
