This is a Telecaster replica in a three-piece body of solid Ash wood, maple neck and Blackwood fingerboard. It holds single coil pickups and a standard configuration of electronics, with a top-loading bridge and pearloid pickguard. The finish aims to replicate the classic Candy Apple Red finish, which is a Gibson metallic gold sprayed over a white primer with a clear red top coat and clear gloss lacquer to build the shine. This was the earlier method used to achieve the candy apple finish. Fender later used metallic silver as the middle layer. The fender is nitrocellulose, wet sanded to a 2500-grit and polished with a three-stage polishing process to achieve a high shine.
